FLEA MARKET FINDS!!!:
My absolute favorite place to start is flea markets. I found Shareen at the flea market 7 years ago along with dozens of other finds. Here are the ones I attend regularly:
Melrose and Fairfax:
(it is bigger than Texas- you cannot miss it)
Get there early for furniture, get there before 11 am for clothing!
Here are my fav. vendors:
Flea Market Girl
They have the coolest bags and jewelry of anyone I have seen and their jewelry is so reasonably priced it is unbelievable !
he does the most unbelievable paintings out of carved wood- really hard to explain- just go see for yourself. He is usually on the right-hand side at the beginning of the flea market.
The coolest bathing suits and really cheap! right next to the Flea market girls’ booth.
PASADENA FLEA MARKET AT THE ROSE BOWL
It is the second Sunday of every month- the next market is March 14th.
You have to get there super super early for furniture and the best vintage clothing finds. Now, they open at 5am and close down by 2pm, so rise and shine and drink plenty of coffee!
VERY IMPORTANT: if you are going for furniture and amazing clothes, you must go inside the entrance and then to the left to get to the outer perimeter of the bowl, which is where you will find all the really cool clothing/shoes/furs/ antiques/etc. I missed that crucial point and spent all my time in the modern area and by the time I got to the outer portion- everything had been picked over! So, if you are on a real mission for clothing and fabulous antiques, right is wrong- go to the left and outside first!
Also, the inner circle provides some sellers that have clothing samples for sale. These items are priced anywhere from $1.00-5.00-10.00, any more than that, and you are over-paying, unless they are really really cute!! Do not be afraid to bargain! That is the fun part! Here are some of the vendors I have found to be the “cream of the crop”:
